I am tremendously saddened to hear this news.  There are only a few folks on the list - vendors - that go above and beyond all the time.  I spoke with Darryl but once regarding a syncro tranny issue and he took time out of his day to answer all of my questions.  I couple of years ago I came across a syncro tranny and Darryl bought it from me.  Once again, very professional. Two years ago there was a "Darryl" here in Colorado - Steve at Pine Beetle.  He passed away and left a huge hole in the VW community because Steve was the only guy in the area that rebuilt VW trannys.  All of the VW repair shops in the area used him. Losing Darryl is another great loss...as a VW enthusiast and a great human being. My heart and thoughts go out to his family. I am very saddened by the loss of our dear friend. Although we have never met in person, Daryl spent hours selflessly giving his advice on all things VW and everything else. When my brother-in-law was stricken lymphoma, he tireless talked me through the uncertainty and apprehension when my wife was named as the donor. We spoke for hours regarding treatment which both he and my brother-in-law was undergoing. I just remember Daryl saying one thing which stuck in my head. "It's the same stuff I'm getting except mine is a lot more painful and does not seem to be working. But I am going to keep trying it is all I can do." > > Our condolences to Daryl's family and may he have eternal rest without any further pain. > > Regards, > > Ben T > >> On Feb 23, 2014, at 6:50 PM, Alistair Bell <albell@SHAW.CA> wrote: >> >> I just heard that daryl christensen passed away this afternoon. >> >> My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family >> >> Alistair I was fortunate enough to know a guy in Little Rock that had the type of  VW transmission skills that Darryl had.  Every region of the country should have someone like Darryl both as a friend and a tranny guru. Rest in peace my friend you will be sorely missed...... DM&FS
