I have 400,000 kilometres on my water boxer and very happy with it. 94,000 km on it when I bought it so I have personally put over 300,000km. I had the engine rebuilt 3 years ago. I go down to the desert once or twice a year and it's let me down ONCE in 12 years and over 300,000 km's. If that is unreliable bring it on! I know little to nothing about the mechanical but have my mechanic do whatever preventive measures that I have gleaned from this helpful list. I have taken care of it and it has taken good care of me. It has been a very reliable vehicle for me and thanks to the many here whose knowledge has helped make it so. Even though I don't turn a wrench I take a keen interest in the vehicle and make sure it receives the proper love care and attention. These vehicles know when their loved!
