I had the same problem on occasion with my I4 1800 digifant in my 82 westy. I tried different filters, but always used the same 15 50 Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Problem always went away with filter and oil change no matter what filter. Problem seemed to coincide with time to change oil, ie every 4 months ( yeah, I changed it that frequently. Figured the engine was working hard in hone van).

The best I’ve been able to come up with is http://www.minimopar.net/oilfilters/german.html#w719 which does not address the porosity of the filter media. > > Jim > >> On Feb 26, 2014, at 12:51 PM, Mike Riley <mkriley@FUSE.NET> wrote: >> >> the real reason the mann filter stops the red light is it has a very coarse filter media and a very low bypass pressure >> so oil gets through by bypassing the filter media.
