I bought a new 1987 1/2 Subaru XT with-if my memory serves me correctly- a 1.6l(non turbo). Great torque and achieved 126mph on a long downhill out to Vegas from LA. Rear lifters started tapping around 150k miles. I asked my now out of town Suby guru mechanic for ideas. He suggested lightly enlarging the overhead oil feed line orifices of those specific lifters, for additional flow. Each lifter had its own orifice. His solution worked after some very minor Dremel work. Loved that car and loved that little boxer, but needed four doors for family safety while my '90 Syncro was putting us through the mechanical wringer. Has anyone tried the Subaru 1.9 turbo for a conversion?
