The valve prevents the oil from draining out of the oil galleries when you
turn the car off. The theory is that if you always have oil in the oil
galleries your engine is not oil starved at start-up. But reality is the oil
film in the bearings provides more than enough protection and you only need
oil flow through the bearings to keep them cool. If modern engines did not
depend on oil flow to cool down the bearings there would be no need for an
oil pump at all. They would all be splash lubricated like smaller lawnmower
engines still are today.

Did you try to call & I did not answer? I apologize but I never answer
numbers I don't recognize because I'm tired of sales people trying to sell
me life insurance, health insurance, Obama insurance, merchant services,
very expensive money and the latest, greatest "guaranteed to make millions"
investment.

I've never been clear about what the heck an anti drain back valve does on
an oil filter that is pointing more or less down as it does on the wbx.
Maybe it is an anti suck up valve?
