The 2003 Matrix has a problem with the cheap steel sealing surface around the gas filler getting rusty, and so the fuel cap doesn't quite seal tight... just enough air pressure leakage to make the "check engine light", "maintenance indicator light" etc. light up and stay on. Twice now, two years apart, I've had to plug the fuel filler port and use fine sandpaper on the fuel filler cap sealing surface, to keep the light from illuminating! JamesOttawa, ON |
