4.35 psi oil pressure would cause me to cringe! No wonder they added an oil cooler to try to keep the oil a little more viscous on the later motors. When I switched to the later filter housing that has the oil/coolant function my inline's oil temperature runs about 15-25f cooler at full power highway speeds... That brings my oil pressure up a little too. I've seen my oil pressure decline a few psi as my motor accumulates mileage.. but it idles at 23 hot still and between 60-75 at my cruising rpm of 3700 or 65mph~ There is not any gauge or warning light that will overcome driver ignorance. How many stories are there of drivers ignoring the "cel"? There are shops who advertise they can "fix" that pesky Check Engine Light.... I see C.L. ads often selling vehicles that say something like.."the check eng. light has been on for years but the ---------- runs perfectly...." |
