Aaron, These vans are worth only what the market will bear - but go NADA price guide and look under "Classic" Cars. The Vanagons are now considered classics - and they are brings a bit more money and that is going to simply get better over time. Also check Auto Trader - same deal. Look at what is happening to the Syncro Westies (don't use GW as a reference - that's a whole 'nother ball game) Straight syncros, top shape straight Westies, and Tintops. All prices are slowly edging upwards. I don't know what you had to give for this machine - but if all else is ok - springing for an auto tranny rebuild would be worth worth it.
