For many it does. When an odometer is replaced there shall be a sticker indicating the date and mileage at the time of replacement. Regardless of repairs performed mileage can have an impact on the condition of a chassis and there are still many parts that may have not been replaced. Some look for low mileage as a benefit. Some also look for high mileage as an accomplishment.

Does mileage really matter on a 25 year old vehicle??

In both my vans - the speedos were replaced some years back, so I have no real mileage to report when someone asks - only what's on the current speedometer.

The mileage issue seems to spook my potential buyers. They ain't buying a modern car!!
