Thanks Scott.

I try not to make assumptions (ha ha), but the fuel pump, tank, filter, hoses, basically the entire fuel system, were new at time of engine swap and are "only" 6 years old with less than 70K miles. At idle, the pump has always made an intermittent noise. I haven't heard enough Vanagon fuel pumps to say this with certainty, but it sounds like a cavitation noise (fuel tank has smaller outlet). That noise gets louder and more persistent in higher ambient temps. (80ยบ+ F )

I have 2 spare pumps, regulators, etc. so am good to go. Assuming the pump check valve is at fault, and it seems to repeatedly relate to engine temp, I'd like to figure out why.

IF the pump was poorly built due to a QC issue, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will experience this issue.

Neil.
