Given the rhino job, yeah, it's worth being cautious about. Still, it's not
that pricey, IF it's in pretty decent shape. When I was looking for my van,
some 12 years ago, I saw a nice blue Westy in the mid-west for sale for
$12K. I called immediately, but they already had somebody call saying they
had cash in hand and were taking a train to get the van, sight-unseen. It
DID have fewer miles and appeared to be in better overall shape, but that
was about 12 years ago. Their value is definitely going up, at least for
well-cared-for vans.
As a final note, the true value is always what somebody will actually pay
for it. Just because you or I wouldn't necessarily, doesn't mean somebody
else wouldn't.
