Subject: Question about EV sliding door repair, NVC
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"

Sorry for the no Vanagon content but this list has the best advice on these matters. My ‘03 EV was struck on the side, you can see a picture at http://www.feddishbasses.com/vandoor.html . I would like to fix it myself but here is the issue and I don’t think I described this correct when speaking with others. The bottom of the door does not seat back into the gasket around the door opening. There is an air gap about 1/2” between the bottom of the door and the seal. Now, by looking at the picture it looks like I just need to pound that dent the other way. That is not the case. The inside of the door is untouched, it’s as if the entire bottom of the door was pulled away in that corner.

Is this something I can fix myself or is this truly a job for a real body shop? Please PMAIL me with any answers to keep this topic off the list.

Thanks, Bryan
