Well, "underpowered" compared to many of the vehicles around... Mine has about 140 HP from a 2 liter jetta motor and that allows for driving it like an average vehicle.... But close to 4000# of weight/140hp works out to 28lbs for each horsepower.... Very much on the lower end of the scale....

Encounter a strong headwind, a long steep grade when fully loaded and the power to weight and the tall profile may slow you down.... I certainly hear often how Westies end up laboring uphill.
