My motor home has a Cat C7 engine rated 350HP at 2,400 rpm, peak torque 80
ft./lbs. at 1,400 rpm. Coming home from Florida after Christmas pulling Fun
Bus, I weighed in at 32,248 pounds. Fun Bus alone was 4,480 and it was empty
except for tools, some chairs, some stuff, and bicycles hanging off the
back.  That's some 92 lbs./HP. And that is still good in the RV, Bus, Truck
world. Of course it accumulates speed more than it accelerates but it gets
the job done.

Well, "underpowered"  compared to many of the vehicles around...  Mine has
about 140 HP from a 2 liter jetta motor and that allows for driving it like
an average vehicle.... But close to 4000# of weight/140hp works out to 28lbs
for each horsepower.... Very much on the lower end of the scale....

  Encounter a strong headwind, a long steep grade when fully loaded and the
power to weight and the tall profile may slow you down.... I certainly hear
often how Westies end up laboring uphill.  I think a stock westie is close
to 38#/HP....that's pretty weak...
