Hello. Working my way through the shifter in my manual transmission. The right (passenger side) metal arm is broken off (not the plastic guide, though that to is missing). Is it Ok to weld a piece back on? How accurate do the arms have to be? Looks like they are guides to help find the gears (3rd and 4th, very loose now, now I know why). Is it a part I should just try to find in a junk yard? Let me know what you think. I know putting that ball on the base of the stick was as much fun as catching a very greased pig. Thanks for the help. Art in Seattle area.
