Hi all. This may apply to Vanagon parts (or accessories?) falling under NAFTA. I'm privately selling a large musical instrument which will likely be purchased by someone in the US. If it falls under NAFTA, it seems the upper limit for items exported as "informal entry" is $2500 Cdn. or USD. related article: http://tinyurl.com/nopocd3 FedEx article: http://tinyurl.com/olg9vwn Can anyone who's transported an item they sold, into US or Canada, confirm and shed some light on actual feasibility of this? eg. paperwork customs typically asks for? My reading indicates that if one has a bill of sale for the item, buyers info, and if item falls under NAFTA (this horn was made entirely in USA), getting it across should be duty free and relatively painless. My apologies if this has been asked and answered. I'm under a bit of a time crunch.
