There are aluminum wheels, and then there are aluminum wheels. At the low end of the spectrum are cast aluminum wheels. These may weigh as much (or maybe even more) than steel wheels. Especially if you are plus sizing your wheels. At the high end of the spectrum, in both cost and quality, are forged wheels. These will be stronger, and usually lighter in weight than cast wheels. And you'll pay accordingly.
