I love those altimax too. It really made a difference to me. I had stuggled with the right pressure although the seems to run well at much lower than you have yours set at.

Can I ask how did you come up with 50 rear and 45 front?

My guess about your light has to do with a brake in the wire exposing the wire to moisture or contact with metal. Mine had a melted stop near the exhaust. When it rained or was really wet it would ground giving me faint light action or glow.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling, Keep those Wagons Rolling,

After all the van and tire issues I've had of late - I finally got Ol' Red up and running. Took him out for a 60 mile run today on new shoes, and all went well. Engine ran like a clock, ride was smooth and true on the new st of General Altimax RT's - 205-70/R14's pumped 50 psi on the rear and 45 on the Front. Steering was straight- no wandering. It was a veeeery nice ride. Me and Ol' Red are ready for the open road.

One small hitch. I've been plagues by the low level warning light staying on. It gave erratic display for a while - erratic blinking, but today after a period of steady cruising at 65 mph - the light suddenly went out and has performed as it should ever since. I didn't get a chance to trouble shoot before this little run, now I'm faced with trying to MAKE it fault. What to do, what to do?

Any suggestions as to how to approach this?

And a little aside - the '91 carat goes into the shop today for an auto tranny rebuild. Hopefully before two many weeks this baby will be on the road. Lots of work to do. Right front door panel is all apart. Like the electric window and door locks were being worked on and just left. Missing rear bumper, Front brake disks may need replacing and the calipers look in rough shape., spring pads for rear springs are all to pieces - that' needs looking at. I'm sure there is a bunch of other stuff. I just haven't seen yet. But looking forward to getting it roadworthy.

John
