You can plug it, but to avoid trapping air in those lines I soldered a U out of 1/2" copper plumbing pipe and capped the ends. Then I drilled a 1/16th inch hole in the caps for some flow. That's the way the valve works, it doesn't completely shut off. I don't have the $100 right now to replace the core either.

Now that I have isolated the source of the coolant inside of the van - I have blocked the two hoses. Can I run it for while that way, until I can get everything repaired.
