Thanks Stuart, and all others who responded.  I think I'm good to go, and I won't need a refill on this trip.  Next refill will be from the people who helped me by inspecting it and reassuring me of its integrity.  I tried to pay, and they wouldn't take any money, though they spent nearly an hour by the time we talked it over for a bit.  The kind of place you don't find much any more.  mcneely
