I had a guy working for me, leave red shop rags in the valley of a V-6
engine, 20+ years ago.
A month later it was back with no oil pressure.
the pan and oil filter were jammed with red cotton.
There is just no margin for this kind of bonehead mistake.
on the not-installed pilot bearing..
well, you know.
I don't find counting rags to be practical,
I just watch everything like a hawk and identify potential screw-ups..
like "this can not be allowed to fall into there, no matter what'..
and constantly recheck that hasn't happened , or is about to.
