I estimate that I've depressed clutch pedals at least 3 million times in my 50+ years of driving and worn out at least one (my '65 MGB). That, combined with the terrible traffic getting in, out, and around Seattle, is why my "new" '85 Westy is an automatic. I've got to preserve what remains of my left knee. I put 220k on my '84 Westy between '86 and 2006 when traffic wasn't as bad, and the pedal was fine when I sold it. Of course. And as was pointed out via p-mail, a lack of lube could alter results.
