Ever since I saw the Transit Westfalia conversions available in Europe (http://westfalia-ford.co.uk/elevated%20roof/index.html) I've been waiting for Ford's full size Transit enter the US market. Maybe sometime this year it will be here, but now Transit Connect LWB versions are starting to appear.
Connect LWB: http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/ford-transit-connect-general-discussion/1 466-my-local-dealer-got-one-stock.html More of a low profile minivan, unfortunately.
The Transit is pretty big, and maybe the LWB Transit Connect would be a better small camper option as opposed to the class B conversion of the Transit we'll likely see here. Perhaps Sportsmobile will consider converting this as a way of acknowledging their roots.
If you want to follow the Transit's arrival, here is the forum for you: www.fordtransitusaforum.com
