Thanks for all the input on this subject. Hopefully the screws will hold this initial camping season and whenever I am ready to service the AC system I can then replace them with rivets or use nuts on the other side.

I really need to clean the evaporator and there doesn't appear to be any way to get around the black air intake screen without removing the entire housing. I don't want to tackle that just yet, so the screws will have to do for now.

Hi Not sure where in the story I missed this but will pass on some info.

Screw studs over time will just pull out of plastic. IF you can get to the back you can use a flat capture nut plate on the back simple to use.
