Neil, didn't you have some luck repairing your cross shaft? I'm about to put a new clutch in myself, and recall reading that somewhere.

Dave - other reasons you might have a 'grabby' clutch are oil leaks (main seal - likley, trans input shaft seal - possible, but less likely to foul plate) and broken engine mounts. I had all of those. I have not checked or replaced my cross shaft though - sigh.

The only way I could engage the clutch without the engine leaping around was to rev it then let the clutch out.
