Right. Yes. I tend to think from a KEP adaptor plate point of view.

FWIW, from the POV of someone who's done this only twice, shortening the input shaft is not rocket surgery and as Mark had suggested to me a while ago, this can be done while input shaft is still mounted.

The input shaft swap is not too hard but the process of lifting the gear up and unscrewing the input shaft was a little tricky at first. Some pics of what I did:
