I used a 1/16th drill bit on the plastic, but my screws were too long and hit the sheet metal behind. I had to swap the 5/8 inch screws for a 3/8 inch and everything went together well. It is not as tight as the stock screen on a Westy due to the offset plastic, but I think it will do just fine.
