Hi Not sure where in the story I missed this but will pass on some info.

Screw studs over time will just pull out of plastic. IF you can get to the back you can use a flat capture nut plate on the back simple to use. Auveco catalog Page 101 also check page 100 http://www.auveco.com/download/catalog/auveco_catalog.pdf

IF you want to rivet them on I would use these:

You still want a washer on the back.

You can also play with finding the rivet that will fit down into the snap stud but you will want a Deep Stud not a standard stud and then the washer on the back side of the plastic. More parts to dink with.

You can also use an anchor of sorts but I have not found one that works well for that application.
