I personally want to thank Karl for the suggestion of using personal lubricant. After what Vanagons have been doing to me all these years, the lubricant made it a bit less painful. Seriously, it did help in putting those new, tight hoses in place. Getting the crossover pipe bolted in from the water pump under the pulley to the right head was just such a joy!
