Definitely send it back, no reason you should be stuck with it. And, this is a tip from Jim Arnott that worked for me: Bosch equivalent for VW Vanagon fuel pump: www.rockauto.com: BOSCH Part # 69100 Electric Fuel Pump In-line, $84.89. Search for the '86 F150 with the 302 V-8. No doubt other suppliers have this too, like NAPA. Why pay more? I have always found that Amazon is good about fixing problems with things purchased through them. The same pumps fit multiple applications so even if it gets sold again who knows what vehicle it will go in. You can get the real deal new Bosch pump on Amazon, shipped from them, for less than what you paid shipped from that outside vender. That said our Vanagon parts vendors have to make a living in order to stay in business so consider buying from one of them. I needed one. did the PayPal. part got here in 3 days - good. bubble wrap envelope - cheap ship - good. pump box taped closed - bad. open it to find local newsprint covering a rebuilt pump. I'm going to eat this because if I return it. they'll pull the same scam on some one else. have notified Amazon - actually did the feedback; poor/negative. will post this at other forums as well. end of rant. h t h mike > |
