Yes you could do it that way I would probably remove the crankshaft pulley if I remember 30 mm socket and a good impact gun and you should have pretty good access and the hose would be 1 in. when replacing. A trick with rounded Allen heads take a Torx socket and hammer it in and 90% of the time the rounded Allen comes right out.
