Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on rebuilding the clutch on my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Campmobile.

I have ordered the parts according to the advice I was given, and my mechanic's recommendations. Since the van will be with him a while, he thought to wait until he has it out to get parts beyond the clutch kit. He says that the cross arm shaft on late models has stood up well, and that he doesn't expect it to be bad. If it is, he can resurface it, something he has done quite successfully. If necessary, he has a transmission that he recently salvaged that someone had put new parts in including cross arm shaft from Van Cafe, though other parts were already bad. It was in a van he bought for salvage. He'll use that one if need be. He also has all the various bushings and seals that might be required, new, and will put in a main seal behind the flywheel and a transmission seal.. So, he thinks we're set, and knowing Darrel, I do to.

I ordered the kit from Bus Depot, best price plus discount. I encouraged Bus Depot to match GoWesty Autoparts no shipping charge deal, but no go. The price was enough better that it was still better to go with Bus Depot. I ordered a Sachs kit. The Luk kit was on sale, so no discount. I've been told by several that the two are equivalent, and Darrel says no difference.
