I've spent a lot of time at Willow Springs and various race tracks on the west coast. This event looks like a typical "track day" where the main focus will be the time spent lapping your vehicle on the track. Be aware that you may 'get hooked' after being involved with these track days..It is really fun to take your street car and pretend to be a racer in a safe enviornment.... A VW specific track day will be interesting...there are some extremely quick VW cars, though Willow Springs big track is more suited to super high speed cars..The turn 8/9 combo, I was negotiating that at over 130mph in my german car... Camping in the paddock in VW vans...if you're interested in racetrack driving, it will be fun..if you are looking for socializing...most of the socializing is centered around how fast you can drive, how you vehicle is working, etc etc...A bunch of Vanagons won't probably generate too much interest from the other folks there for the event.....It can be windy and cold at Willow Springs and there may be a prohibition on alcohol consumption...Evenings in the high desert are magic. If you have never been to a racetrack it will be fun..
