Subject: Shifter Alignment After Clutch Replacement
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hi, rather than paying the towing cost we opted to have someone with less than optimal experience replace the clutch. While the clutch and van work, the shifter is now resting between 3rd and 4th gear instead of 1st and 2nd.   Paging through the Bentley manual (page 34.21) suggests to me the the shift rod in the rear might need the clamp loosed to re-align.  Is this correct or do we need to get an expert to correct things ? Thanks '87 Weekender manual trans wt 215k+ miles
