Are you sure it's not warped front rotors? What happens at 50 mph, and are you breaking? A pulsing pedal or jiggling steering wheel when breaking usually means warped rotors.

Get a $35 clamping dial indicator (or make our own clamp set up for the $15 one) from Harbor Freight and check the run-out on the rotors and rear hubs before you tear into them.

Some years ago my brakes started wobbling. Nothing serious, but at speeds above 50 it is very noticeable and possibly hazardous. So I finally put new high quality ATE drums on and it still does it! So I wasted my money!

Is it possible a hub can be bent on one side? As I rotate the wheel I can feel the brake scrape over about 15º of rotation. How could that happen? Bad driving? The problem started about 4 years ago when I had "Just Brakes" rebuild my system. Could some heavy equipment they used have damaged my hub?

Wheels are not warped, all original that came with the van. Even noticed they are stamped 10/83 from the factory.

Any ideas, please. Regardless, I think I am stuck putting on a new used hub.
