Same as with freeze dried or other dehydrated foods for back packing. Fine where there is a good water supply like in the Cascades. But in Big Bend National Park, one has to carry a gallon per person per day in winter, two in summer. You'd have to be nuts to back pack in Big Bend in summer), except for the restricted area of the Chisos Mountains. When it is 105 F by mid-morning, uh-uh. mcneely
