The aftermarket tanks fit well but are thinner and lower grade metal then the originals, but not by much. Their biggest drawback is terrible coating. Paint them when they're new and don't worry about them for a long time. I like to scuff up the factory paint, degrease, and apply wurth rust guard, though por15 would work. I did a tank this way years ago and it was the only non rusty thing left on that bus when it was decommissioned.

A night or two ago I thought I smelled gas up by the tank at the front of the van. It was hard to tell, but made me think maybe I should go ahead and do this now since it was semi-planned anyway. > > GoWesty folks have a glowing description of this one: > > http://www.gowesty.com/ec_view_details.php?id=19589&category_id=87&category_parent_id= > > Van Cafe has this--looks very similar, is this the same product? > > http://www.van-cafe.com/home/van/page_1178_1457/fuel-gas-tank.html > > Also, if anyone knows of a higher capacity option, I would be interested in that as well > > Thanks, > > mike |
