I have a 1990 westfalia that I am replacing the water pump on and have noticed oil leaking from around the crankshaft area. I am considering pulling the crank pulley and trying to isolate the leak while I am in this area. Are there any seals that routinely begin to leak that might not be too difficult to replace while I am in the area. Where have volks seen leaks on their vehicles in this area. My engine has about 170k on a rebuild and any leaking fluid drives me nuts. I am thinking maybe an oil pump seal, oil pressure sender, crank seal or pushrod tubes. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. This vehicle was a daily driver and I am giving it a thorough once over to get it back on the road for camping and festival season.
