Midas Muffler offered lifetime warranties on their aftermarket muffler for vanagons, & I compared that to the oem muffler on my 84 & they seemed identical in detail/weight, etc. so I bought one years ago. It held up for about 12 years & finally I replaced it w/ 1 from Busdepot after I got tired of it rattling loose & having exhaust leaks in the pipes & connections, but that was not a fault of the muffler, but i think the lack of the support brackets which had come off. In any event over the 12 years I had it into Midas for numerous fixes to the exhaust system which Midas performed, but no problem w/ the actual muffler. They usually charge you for new bolts/flanges, etc. however. YMMV, Mr. BZ
