There are two major things you will need to get a replacement muffler from VW. The receipt showing you as the original purchaser or shop receipt showing you are the first owner (including VIN). Second and the most difficult to overcome is that there are no longer any dealer exhaust parts available except the brackets and gaskets.

I recall hearing here (Dennis Haynes?) that if you have an original wv muffler with the stampings, it has a lifetime warranty and they'll replace it? This seams way too good to be true but just discovered I have a totally rusted out muffler with the original stampings on it, so if this really is the case..... How do I get a replacement?
