What evidence do you have that these problems are from the rear rather than
the front?  Can you feel any pulsing when you gradually pull the parking
brake while moving?  Is there any steering wheel movement that accompnies
the pulsing?
  In the past fifty years or so. I have never experienced pulsing that was
traced to rear drums, but many cases caused by front rotors.

"Squishy" indicates air in the system somewhere.  A "complete bleed" is not
always complete.  If the bleed screw used is not at the very top of the
caliper chamber, a bubble can remain.  Sometimes loosening the brake line
fitting at the caliper is productive.  A different bleeding method may work
better.  Pressure bleeding vs. pumping or vice versa, etc.

Pulsing indicate warpage, uneven thickness of rotor or non-unform friction.
 I recently read an artical on a brake tech website that said that many
cases of pulsing attributed to warpage are actually due to uneven friction,
expecially after a vehicle has been unused for a time.  Maybe sanding the
surface would help remedy this?
