The clock does not get power through the ignition switch.

There is a single red wire from the battery to the back of the fuse/relay panel. It plugs onto a large male spade on the back of the panel and powers nearly everything in the dash. I would look closely at both ends of that power wire.

If the red wire is ok I would look at the battery post connections and the battery ground cable to chassis connection. Those also carry the starter motor cranking current so a problem there most often shows as a cranking speed problem.
