Thanks Jim for your answer, It worked perfectly for me. I posted it below for the archives. I never would have figured this out without your directions.
Eric, take a small pick with a 90° End and insert it between the bottom of the plastic frame and the metal part of the door. Slide the hook from right to left or left to right along the bottom in that crack until you feel it hit an obstacle. The obstacle will be a plastic tang, one near each end. There are two of them. If you hook each tang and pull down very slightly about a 32nd of an inch it will clear the slot and release that side of the window frame. Do both, then pull out and lift up and the screen will be free. Scrape the old screen out with the scraper. Replace it with screen of your choice. Reglue with hot glue. Installation is reverse of removal. Jim In my case the plastic fram is cracked through in one corner. the screen itself is intact. this will be a tricky fix as it is visible from both sides and is made of thin plastic. Still now I can work on it, or easily pop in a replacement if I can find one.
