Which refrigerator? The Dometic simply uses too much power to run on a battery with any practicality. As you move into the real RV world they don't even bother with the 12 volt option.

Ah, now I remember why I have never bothered to put in an auxiliary battery.  The refrigerator is really the only thing I would want to run off it.  Now, I suppose if I had a solar installation, I could keep the battery topped up, and run the refrigerator perfectly fine.  So far, I've done fine on propane, in fact have never run out.
