Worth every penny, maybe!

I’m over half way there with the '85 I bought for $7500 two years ago, and I still have to do a Subaru conversion.

I wonder if the Go Westy 48,000 mile 2.2 engine warranty is transferable though . . . Not worth it if it isn't--deduct $5000.

With that many miles I would think the transmission has been rebuilt as well.

How does it compare to this older one with 385,000 miles?

Sitting opened up like that in the Louisiana humidity and rain, it's got to have some serious mold. Probably some bullet holes too, given the vandalized wind wings and taillights. But, the engine is there and it's an automatic. Probably best to do an engine conversion rather than replace all the expensive Vanagon engine bits. > > Worth about $1500 IMHO, it's going to need some serious decontamination and restoration.
