so just because a van is cheap, and has a few broken vent windows and dents
 and has been sitting for a while, i guess  in your mind makes it a piece
of  junk.

there are two ways to buy westys.

you either buy them cheap, , get a good deal and fix them up at your
leisure and when your finances allow, and have the satisfaction of doing the job
yourself, and know its done right...  or you lay gobs of money down on  a
overpriced GoWe$ty special , with everything already done ...  honestly..
most of us here on this list are not independently wealthy..

so finding a late model westy such as this one and putting some elbow
grease into it would be the way to go IMO.
