Hmmm...... . I have a 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Campmobile with a good waterboxer and manual transmission. It is clean, runs beautifully, all camping components are in excellent condition, its tires have half their tread left (five identical Kumhos). No rust. When I bought it five years ago it was in good shape, and I paid $6k. I've spent a fair amount on it to get it to where I wanted it, and I spend money regularly on it because it is old.

The one advertised has no engine, the camping gear is shot, surely the tires are rotted, ............. . After all, it has been in a field for several years without being even started, and the owner states that the engine was shot before.

Now, I have no experience at pulling old hulks out of fields and getting them going, so maybe I'm wrong. But I wouldn't drive to Louisiana for it. And if you think a van parked in a field in Lafayette, LA after living there is rust free, I've got a bridge .......... . Lafayette is 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, and driving on the beach, and beach camping are just everyday activities there.
