Hi listers,

I discovered recently why my rear wiper squirter is not working. =
I was putting rubber conditioner on the rubber covers that protect the =
wires at the top of the rear hatch. the driver's side was like new. =
the passenger side was all rotted out. when I probed a bit I found that =
the fluid line had broken and was squirting fluid into the rubber =
covering. I think the fluid over a short time rotted out the rubber =
from the inside. The squirter work last year but not all that well. I =
suspect it had already started to break. But now it is completely broken =
through.

So, I have the two ends of the hose and would rather find a way to =
connect them then to try to replace the entire hose from tank to end. I =
think the door action stressed the hose in that spot. The rest feels =
supple and strong.

Is there a way to connect this hose and keep it from leaking? some kind =
of splice that goes in the old hose or a larger piece placed on the =
outside of the old line?=20

What can I use to protect these wires and hose now that the rubber cover =
is destroyed. this section is outside the van when the door is shut and =
exposed to the elements. Perhaps I may just have to use gorilla or =
electrical tape.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
