Van Cafe in Santa Cruz was nice enough to jump right on this for me this morning.

Classic: The brake lights worked fine for them.

The mechanic said he had to replace the right brake light bulb. Which I thought I had checked.

But he said the left brake light was working fine when he checked it.

He suggested my hunk of wood wasn't pushing hard enough on the pedal without the engine running, that is, without the help of the booster.

That's possible, but I asked them to sell me two brake light switches for my spares box anyway.
