There was a tan aircooled AW here that I saw occasionally, then it turned up at a car repair place where it sat for a couple of years.  The shop guy wanted $4000 "and not a penny less" for it and then the van disappeared.  Turns out to have been bought by the already- two-Vanagon-owning parts guy at the local VW dealer.  Last I heard he was selling both the AW and his rusty Syncro.  Life goes on, even for the lucky Vanagons among us. Along with Harvest Gold and Avocado Green, the fine burnt-orange on this van is a reminder of the color palette favored in the '70s. I'll miss it -- if they actually sell it (price seems a /wee/ bit on the high side) to a buyer who doesn't live here. -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore.
